Taking in consideration various traffic flows used in digital marketing campaigns, it is very important to give our users the flexibility to still use TheOptimizer on non-standard traffic flows.
In order to adapt to non-standard flows and still be able to use automated optimization using TheOptimizer, we have introduced Manual Connector.
Here are a few examples and known cases when Manual Campaign Connector comes handy:
Case 1 – Multiple campaigns pointing to the same tracker generated campaign link.
When creating multiple campaigns copies that point on the same tracker generated campaign link, it is required to append your traffic source Campaign ID token so that TheOptimizer can detect and distribute campaign statistics accordingly. In case the traffic source campaign ID token is not appended in your campaign link, even when using the manual campaign connector is not possible to show all campaigns individually in your campaigns' list.

Case 2 – Campaign linked directly to the landing page where CTA contains camp tracker link
When linking your native camps directly to your landing page and then rotating offers through your tracking platform, where landers CTA contains your tracker generated campaign link makes it hard for TheOptimizer to automatically link traffic source and tracker detected campaigns. To overcome this situation, it is suggested to manually connect the campaign using Manual Campaign Connector.
Case 3 – Campaign linked to a Redirect Server then routed to your tracker campaign link
In case you are linking your campaigns to a redirect server that routes traffic to your tracking links, this redirect server becomes a stumbling block for TheOptimizer to automatically link your traffic source and tracker campaigns. To still be able to automate your campaign optimization through TheOptimizer, Manual Campaign Connector makes it possible to manually connect both ends of your campaign.
